Climbing and Assisting Spirit of Air Bagan in Kacin State
First attempt was in May 2009, successfully scaled the 11250 ft elevated Mt Phungan Razi. Second attempt, on 22 March, 2010 the team comprised of 53 members from Htoo Group of Companies, Air Bagan Hiking and Mountaineering Association arrived at the top of ice-capped Mt.Phonyin 14050 ft altitude and proudly planted the Myanmar flat at the summit. Team members, on behalf of Htoo Foundation, presented each household with K100,000 to support the villagers’ farm work and to help with their efforts to sustain the environment. They also donated medical and school supplies. On previous mountaineering trips, they had done the same for villages in the region. The region has much to offer those interested in pristine nature, adventure such as mountain climbing or white water rafting, or the study of rare or endangered flora and fauna.
